Manually into concentricity
In order to be able to position components flexibly and precisely rotational, IEF-Werner has different rotary tables in its programme, which vary in size and load capacity, among other things. The largest NC rotary table in the portfolio, the DT 160/200, is now also available as manual version.
"We now also offer our largest NC rotary table for manual operation," Product Manager for manual adjustment units Fabian Wald and Thomas Hettich, responsible for motorised rotary tables from IEF-Werner, announce. "This makes it suitable for applications in which the operator only rarely needs to change the position, and the more expensive motorised version would not be worthwhile." Since its market launch, the new MDV 160/200 has also been frequently used for preliminary tests or, for example, at the start of a project to verify processes - a cost-effective and efficient solution for some applications.
If required, the manual rotary actuator can be retrofitted with a motor at any time, as the housing is identical and the handwheel can be easily replaced with a gearbox with flange-mounted motor. The maximum input torque is 3.0 Newton metres and the maximum output torque is 80 Newton metres. With a width of 160, a height of 200 and a depth of 90 millimetres, the MDV 160/200 weighs 9.8 kilograms. "Its size and load capacity make it attractive for large and heavy components," Wald explains.
The heavy-duty rotary adjusters from IEF-Werner are made of stainless steel and aluminium. A high-quality worm gear is installed. The typical design of this type of gear allows the backlash to be adjusted. "The rotary tables all have a generously dimensioned hollow shaft. This allows the designer to feed through hoses and cables," Hettich explains. "The manual versions of the turntables are available with a handwheel, locking lever and digital position indicator," Wald adds.
The MDV 80/100 is also one of the manual heavy-duty rotary adjusters with hollow shaft, with a maximum input torque of 1.25 and a maximum output torque of 20 Newton metres. Weighing just 1.5 kilograms, it is suitable for dynamic applications. The MDV 100/140, on the other hand, weighs 4.2 kilograms. Its input torque and output torque are 2.0 and 40 Newton metres respectively.
"With these different variants, we are able to respond to the various tasks of our customers in an application-specific manner," Hettich says. "The user can approach any angle and is not tied to a fixed pitch." "Thanks to the product integration, we can work with our customers to develop uncomplicated and flexible application solutions - whether manual or motorised," Wald summarises.
