When hearing Black Forest, who does not think of recreational areas, idyllic fir forests, skiing, hiking - in short of vacation?

However, the middle Black Forest is also the home of traditionally important industries such as watchmaking industry, precision mechanics and electrical engineering. In the last decades, this region has developed slowly to a centre for microelectronics. Many high-tech companies settled here.
