Trainees present donation in kind to Furtwangen kindergarten
No guidelines, but plenty of commitment:
In February, trainees at IEF-Werner GmbH organised an internal raffle with the aim of raising money for a good cause. They raised several hundred euros, which was then topped up by the managing directors – but what or who should the money be used to support? We chose a kindergarten run by the Catholic Family Centre in Furtwangen. In close consultation with the social institution, suitable toys were purchased and assembled – including sand toys such as diggers, tippers and cranes.
At the handover in mid-May at the St. Elisabeth children's home of the Catholic family centre, both the children and staff were delighted: ‘A wonderful donation – we are very happy about the toys,’ said director Tamara Schüssele, expressing her gratitude during the handover in the outdoor area of the facility. ‘The outdoor area will also be redesigned soon, so the toys will be just right!’
The children tested the toys, cautiously at first, but then with increasing courage. ‘It's wonderful to see how much joy we were able to bring to the children with our campaign,’ was the unanimous opinion of the trainees, ‘and that our trainers, colleagues and the company supported the idea right from the start.’
The donation was handed over on 14 May in the courtyard of the facility.
