IEF-Werner Configurates the Manual Adjusting Units of the domiLINE Series Individually:

IEF-Werner constructed a unit with three slides. Because of the scarce space conditions, the slides can be clamped directly to the spindle.

The IEF technicians installed a small opening at each panel, which is exactly the size of the scale. The user can comfortably determine the exact position.

The domiLINE adjusting unit is constructed modularly and can easily be converted. The user is able to drive any needed stroke with the slide widths of 30, 50, 80 and 120 millimetres.

Always the Right Answer at Hand

IEF-Werner GmbH from Furtwangen in the Black Forest offers manual adjusting slides from the domiLINE series, that can for example position measuring systems as needed. The user is able to upgrade or convert the modular solution easily. It is particular, that if it cannot be realised with the construction kit, IEF-Werner configurates the task individually for the client – even for difficult installation conditions.

Furtwangen, 24.07.2019 – For one usage, the camera of a palletiser systems is supposed to record the exact position of the component. If the product is changed, the user has to adjust the picture sensor manually. “We offer the perfect adjusting slides with our series domiLINE for this task”, IEF product manager Fritz Wehinger says. A precise steel spindle, ball bearing mounted in an endplate with low backlash and preloaded plastic nut, drives the system. An optional boot protects the spindle of oily or dirty environments. The domiLINE adjusting unit is constructed modularly and can easily be converted. The user is able to drive any needed stroke with the slide widths of 30, 50, 80 and 120 millimetres. Measuring systems, such as cameras can be driven to any possible position. For this usage, the technicians from the Black Forest have constructed a unit with three slides, that can be moved into X-, Y-, or Z-direction. Moreover, these can be mounted easily on top of each other by connecting kits – without any mechanical processing. The slide width here is 30 millimetres. The camera is screwed onto the IEF-application with an attachment. The exact adjusting is made via an adjusting knob, equipped with a 0.05 millimetres scale. 

The user is able to position every slide exactly by hand and fixate it with a clamping lever sideways – at least that`s how it should be ideally. This is not possible for every usage, like Fritz Wehinger reports: “So for example for this palletiser system, where space conditions were extremely narrow and edges were interfering everywhere.” This is why the user could not read the value from the scale, because at each slide it was covered by a front panel. The IEF technicians therefore installed a small opening at the panels, which is exactly the size of the scale. The user can comfortably determine the exact position. Because of the scarce space conditions, the clamping levers could not be operated. But also here the IEF technicians found a solution: instead of the clamping levers, the experts created the possibility to clamp the slide directly onto the spindle. Therefore, the intake is slit and can be tightened with a hexagon socket key – tightened so fast that nothing can move anymore.

 “If necessary, we can equip the system with a bus interface”, Fritz Wehinger describes. Therewith the units can remember their own positions and simplify the work with often changing positions.
